"The Flash" is Grant Gustin's title role: Barry Allen, a forensic police officer from Central City. An accident in the STAR Labs landed Barry in a coma, from which he wakes up with superpowers: He is then lightning fast and soon advanced to the new hero of his city. Even before the accident, Barry, fascinated by comics, had worked with Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) in Starling City, unaware that it was "Arrow". Barry's father is imprisoned for murdering his mother. Barry, however, is convinced of his innocence and wants to find the "true culprit". Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and David Nutter serve as The Executive Producer of The CW Series. Berlanti, Kreisberg and Geoff Johns were also responsible for the script. David Nutter directed, as in "Arrow" and "Smallville", the staging of the pilot episode. Jesse L. Martin stars in "The Flash" Barry Allen's foster father, Detective West. This is an honest cop who took over the father job when Barry's father went to jail. Actress Candice Patton plays Iris, West's daughter and Barry's best friend. Since childhood Barry is in love with her, but never had the courage to tell her. Scientific support gets Barry from Dr. med. Harrison Wells, played by Tom Cavanagh and his two assistants Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) and Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes). These work for the S.T.A.R. Labs, which are operated after a fatal incident only sporadically. Barry finds shelter there and works with his new team together on his extraordinary abilities. Sooner or later he will have to master this, and then new villains will appear on a daily basis that cause chaos in Central City and can only be stopped by Barry aka The Flash.
